With the last of the runners now returned and the race complete, the afternoons activities turn to feasting, drinking and enjoying the rest of the day. So far there has been plenty of laughter and entertainment as skalds ply their trade through the crowd market. Singing is heard through the crowd as a skald moves closer to you, his voice fading once again as he moves away and the other noises of the market drown him out. The calls for ale or pie sellers as well as other vendors selling off their wares.

With about half a watch left of daylight Cunate orders that trestle tables and benches be arranged about the market square, it would seem he intends to move the feast outside tonight instead of the hall. Rush lights and lanterns are also brought forth and with the fading light, the darkness is lifted by the lights of nearby lanterns and rush lights. The tables and benches are quickly filled with Cunate taking his place at the head table along with Erling Storzar and their sons. Others are also seated near the head table, Cunate's brothers among them.

Soon servants begin to bring forth food from the thranaal, platters of oysters, muscles and other seafood are served along with platters of cheese, vegetables and fuit. Huge pots are brought down from the thranaal and each warrior is served in turn according to his position. It is not long before huge loaves of bread are placed in front of each warrior and ladels of steaming stew are poured over the bread. The stew contains huge chunks of meat and a variety of grains. The sauce runs thick over the bread and the smells of spices attacks your senses.

With the main course consumed another course is now served, again servants bring forth a variety of pies, each has a pastry replica of the animal on top of each pie, there are duck pies, goat pies, pork pies, chicken pies, goose pies and a variety of others.

Finally with the platters cleared the final course is served a dessert consisting of pancakes with berries and a bowl of skyr (like yoghurt) mixed with a variety of berries too, pots of honey are also placed upon the table.

With the meal completed Cunate takes the opportunity to award the winners of the various competitions their winnings. With the aid of Tersi, Cunate calls each of the winners forth where they take a place in front of the head tables. Cunate with the winners assembled (including Borygg and Barak) Cunate congratulates each of the winners, he places his hands upon each mans shoulders draws them into a hug and offers praise for their efforts before he hands them a small buckram beltpouch containing coins.

Cunate then returns to his seat where he drinks and celebrates the days events for a while longer before standing and retiring to the thranaal along with Erling Storzar. The festivities continue once Cunate and Erling depart and they look to continue well into the night...

Guiding the band Algared works his way to where Sigrun is to complete the other other their tasks, not only in detailing their coming task but also in looking out for the welfare of their fellow.

Algared will, when no prying ears are around ensure Sigrun also knows of the role the band have been asked to play in the relief of Abderhiem.

Barak will congratulate the winner of the race, yet another Storzar. He will also congratulate the Puffin Whale "You ran a good race Bjarni, a few more like that and we will get you fast enough to be a hunter". He accents the purse from Cunate gladly, and says "I hope I have done our clan proud today". He listens to Algared's news, before remembering he owes Varn the Hunter a drink.

Post by GM Barak and Varn both share an ale or two as they chat amiably during the feast after the competitions

All the warband (except Sigrun) are able to celebrate about the tables eating, drinking, singing and telling stories well into the night. Sigrun after taking her leave of the warband once the feasting started spent her time in the meadhall in quiet solitude.

Nearing the end of the 5th watch a fog begins to build growing from the river, the nights air is warm with a warm breeze coming in from the south east, the nights sky is clear and the stars can be clearly seen, the glow from a near full Yael illuminates the countryside.

Around this time the feastivities begin to wind up, men begin to retire to their clanhouses. With full bellies the warband bring the festivities of the night to an end, making their way to the meadhall where they join Sigrun and preparing their sleeping gear and with the embers of the hearth fire casting the only light about the hall the warband drift off to sleep taking rest from the days activities.
