Algared Daas' Background/friends and enemies

Algared is the son of Skorri Daas an un-cle of Cunate Daas the Clanhead. Algared was born in Ygesdram, Menglana. Skorri Daas had high hopes when Algared, his first son was born. However, although Skorri would never publically admit it his son failed to live upto his high hopes and in Skorri's eyes is a disappointment. Algared's left handedness left him seemingly awkward and unable to function effectively with the shieldwall. Several in the Thran shunned the youth and murmured whenever he held weapons in his left hand (an ill omen they said). Despairing and wishing to hide the failure of a son, Skorri agreed to to allow his son to go to a house of learning when another merchant seemed to notice the lad had "untapped talents".

Algared returned to the Thran eight months before the winter snows, and much to his father's displeasure seemed to have very little to show for the six years he had been away. when his father is not around the employees have been heard to referr to his as the wastrel in their kinder moments. Algared was originally employed in his father's business but his father started sending him away on "important" tasks. As a result Algared spent the last months before winter wandering the hills or fishing, and was at times encountered singing strange melodies as his sat contemplating the waters. While he may be unpopular with many of the Thransmen he has befriended several of the herdsmen.

Algared has accompied hunting parties on several occassions since his return, and unfortunately for him the party he is with is usually unsucessful. On one hunt they lost the quarry, on another several of the men were gored by a boar. One of the men was in a serious way according to the other members of the party, but they claimed Algared tended the wounds and saved his life, washing them daily in icy waters as he sang strange nonsense songs. Yet the claims of the seriousness of the wounds seemed exagerated by the hunting party reached the thran, empty handed a few days later. when questioned, Algared merely said he had learnt that cleaning wounds and providing a warm meal often helped people heal, and when a wound is bleeding it always appears worse.

Skorri, wishes his son was less the eccentric and will soon stop using the foreign sling he has which just makes him a target of ridicule. Skorri hopes Algared will "behave more like a warrior, for they will be needed soon and less a bookworm who plays at skald but cannot recall the great lays."

FRIENDS & ENEMIES
• Friend: Uther Fraadar, Herdsmen (Loyalty score 59) Algared met Uther intially whilst on on of his fathers errands. Uther was seeking on of the flocks lambs that had strayed. Algared assisted him in searching for the missing lamb, which they found dead having fallen into a steep banked pond. Despite the loss Uther shared a his meagre meal with Algared as thanks. before the snows Algared would often find himsefl in the hills and would end up spending time talkig or sharing a meal his own meal.

• Aquaintaince: Animal Trainer (Loyalty score 39) Kjarl Orrsmaan, Algared found a wounded falcon on one of his walks and returned with it to Cunate's Falconer and animal trainer. Kjarl agreed to take the falcon and nurse it back to health. Algared and Kjarl have spent some time together as they have watched over the falcon's healing process.

• Friend: Farmer (loyalty score 69) Bjan Feldemaan is a freeman and became friends with Algared after Algared managed to save his daughter after she had fallen into one of the deep mountain streams near the farm. Bjan who could not swim was relieved after Algared dived into the swollen waters and retrieved the girl getting her asure before he seemed to drag him under, several minutes passed before a wet and drenched Algared walked back to the farm from down stream.

• Friend: First cousin (Loyalty score 58) Cunate Daas, blood is thicker than water. Cunate, as clanhead learned the truth of Algared's station as a member of the Odivshe order within the Guild of Arcane Lore.,when he questioned his young cousin after one of the hunting incidents.
